There are a number of betting software products on the market, but finding the
one that best suits your betting style may be difficult and time consuming.

The ideal of course would be to write your own software. That way, at least potentially, you end up with exactly what you want without having to disclose what may be closely guarded information to a third party, and you don't have to rely on someone else to
deliver changes that you may require from time to time.

If you're anything like me though, you face a big learning curve. I still write most
of my software in a language that many believe died out with the Neanderthals. I
write in QuickBasic. I've recently started playing around with Powerbasic, but quite
frankly, I find it a drag.

So what's the solution?

Well, there's a book that has just been released called "Automated Exchange Betting" by Colin Magee. I've had the good fortune of having advance sight of the core thrust of the book, namely the section on the automation of the betting processes.

Whereas I don't for a moment suggest that you'll be able to produce your own
software overnight after reading the book, you'll certainly be off to a good start.

A free installation of some of the basic betting software described in the book is available to enable interested parties to start out and adapt code to meet their needs and insodoing, provide an insight into the world of writing your own betting software.

In addition, Betwise Limited develops and hosts automated betting robots. All of my own automated betting from around January 2008 has been executed from their hosted platform.
